Tanzania regularly experiences water shortages due to environmental and human factors. The region has just one rainy season a year and only a handful of natural water sources. In addition, poor water infrastructures and a lack of funds to develop existing water sources also contribute to inadequate amounts of clean, safe water for the Tanzanian people.
More than 90 percent of the Compassion partners in Tanzania don’t have clean water at their facilities. The main sources of water for the projects in Tabora are contaminated wells three to four kilometers away. Without this basic essential — water — our ability to reach children in need is greatly impaired. We need your help.
Please Help How
Your gift will make a tremendous impact in the lives of people who desperately need clean water. Here are just a few of the benefits your gift to our Rainwater harvesting program will help provide.
Rainwater harvesting systems help:
- Reduce the spread of waterborne illnesses
- Provide water for washrooms so children can practice good hygiene
- Families save time fetching water
- Children learn to use the water to garden and plant fruit trees and flowers — which helps create a healthy environment for the entire community.
Your donation helps ensure safe, clean water for the people of Tanzania — and it helps children stay healthy and energetic as they grow spiritually, emotionally and physically.
